Friendly Fruit Fly buff?

I was thinking about if buffing Friendly Fruit Fly would be a good idea. Now it's an NPC that stops working when you are not nearby, and has a very long animation rendering it useless when away (crops are unhappy because fruit fly didn't talk with them) and when trying to grow at least 20 crops at once (fruit fly cannot keep up with talking to plants before others grow, 20 crops seems like a lot but it's like 2 farm plots). 

Making the Fruit Fly's animation faster or just increasing the range of making plants happy + making it work off-screen would make it infinitely more useful. Now it's very niche, especially because you can't have more than one.
