solved Can I use a base character's costume in my mod?

Well, I have created many topics asking questions since I started making my own character, now it's just as I wanted(except some abilities). And now it's time to create her appearance. Last two days I'm reminded again that art is the last thing I can do, even while looking at others or copying.

So I just want to use Wigfrid's Roseate appearance as my character. I've already bought Roseate Wigfrid in-game with spools but I am still unsure if it's legal or not. Also can I change her a little bit? Like making her blush pinkier, her hair a darker color.

And how should I do it? Should I copy all Wigfrid files and change her abilities as mine or replace my character's anim folder with hers?(I should also look for guides on how to do the latter.)

And lastly, thank you for all the guides, or even your replies on my or other people's questions. They all helped me a lot while I developed my character. I even have wigfrid's exported files from 2019 now lmao!

[btw, how can i make my character not be able to jump in wormholes, tho?]

ridiculous but unfortunately it is what it is.

You can't use the actual skins of the vanilla characters for your mod character and you can't make skins for official vanilla characters (like if you make a mod which is wendy but with a different color skirt and her name is MyOriginalOc it's okay, but if it was a skin like the snowfallen then not ok even if you recolor the skirt or changed some things)

but if you got a original character like Wsjkdakjdnjkasd and you like a skin's outfit or hairstyle or something you can try to copy it for your own character of course you will have to draw the copy with your own hands and artistic talent so if you have none this means you're out of luck

 

best thing u can do is if u know how to draw is find some pic of rosate wigfrid on internet and trace the hair and parts u like for ur own original char if you cant do it then settle for a vanilla character texture and do a recolor of their clothes or mix match their parts like modders do which cant or dont want to draw

np, basically default vanilla character textures and mod character textures and whatever you draw (as long as isn't exact replica of vanilla character skin) is fair game to make ur own mod character.
