So I'm screwing around trying to see if DST allows us to make long sleeved shirts, the problem only comes in when you first load up the Custom character mod. It only has short sleeves, and to make them longer it cuts into the files for the lower arms. But some animation looks a tad funky that way. Any tips or tricks how to achieve what I want?

Vanilla skins use the arm_lower and arm_upper_skin textures for their long sleeves usually. You'll probably need to have some custom code logic to make it compatible with skins so the arm_lower/arm_upper_skin get overrided with regular arms if a shirt overrides the arm_upper portion.

But for now if you aren't as concerned with skin compatibility try starting off with making your arm_lower and arm_upper_skin textures for long sleeves. I have been trying to work on this myself, but I am not much of a professional artist, so anything I draw takes ages to reach acceptable quality for my standards.

Pretty sure I saw some mods some slime girl or something that had some custom code logic for making her feet or something update with skins.

I managed to get long sleeves but with some clipping issues where some animations make the arms look a tad broken, but I'm not picky.
