NeoDeusMachina Posted November 9, 2021 Share Posted November 9, 2021 I think rockets should be aware of where they are - and by that I mean when we are in the "interior view". - Background space radiation should scale with where the rocket is on the starmap. It should increase as the rocket travels further away from the center of the starmap. - At the very least, the background space radiation should be the same as the planet which a rocket is either orbiting or landed on. Right now on the testing branch, I have a rocket landed on the superconductive asteroid where space radiation is 375rads/cycle but the space radiation when I am "inside" the rocket is 250 rads/cycle. Another rocket landed on the starting asteroid where space radiation is 187rads/cycle also has 250 rads/cycle when viewing the interior of the rocket. It is pretty much 250 rads/cycle no matter where the rocket is, landed or in space. - A similar scaling could be done for light intensity, but that has no impact on rocket interior gameplay right now since it is blocked by the ceiling of the spacefarer module anyway. - I have also seen a post on reddit and apparently you can use a telescope inside a spacefarer module even if the rocket is deep underground and has no access to space - this shouldn't be a thing. Now that the devs are polishing Spaced Out!, it seems like a good moment to do a pass on that and make sure everything is coherent.
