Thanks guys for replying, I haven't tried lures. maybe that's my main problem. today I'll try using lures and floats, Hopefully I can accomplish my goal to survive on the sea for an entire year in the game.mainly on a boat, I'll have to go to the land every now and then.

I wish there can be more place for me to put the structures, sometimes there is space, but the structure can't be put there, It's weird with the collision detection.

Ok, can I put eels in the tin fishing bin too?

If you are keen to learning more about structure placements on boats, here's a good read.

Iirc only ocean fishes can be placed in the Tin Fishin' Bin. I usually place 3 Sunfish and 3 Ice Bream so I don't have to worry about weather changes (Don't need light and heat in winter, and only a lightbulb a day during summer). The rest I fill with heavy fishes for Pearl's quest or just a Spittlefish for the Fire Pump later on.

I believe that fish meat kept in the Ice Box will spoil in ~6 days, which you can progressively dry into jerky (~40 days into spoilage if placed in the Ice Box). It is also wise to murder multiple fish at a time into a stack of fish meat so that their spoilage timers are consistent. Just some general knowledge on how spoilage works and how to cook with this in mind, will get you through the game pretty far.

this fan art (i dont know they author..) comes from klei mob concepts. Cats love fish and are bastards so they could fit into some kind of pirate specie

hey this idea may be really cool!
since there are many fishes and late game you can compare them with a scale, they are like oddities, artisan goods so to speak
maybe these catcoon people can buy heavy fish/waxed giant crops from you for cool stuff

this idea alone deserves it's own thread

And we can finally get the pirate mobs we were waiting to make sea battles.

They cab implement an island were the king of the catpirates live and were the boats with pirates spawn. If you sail and find one they will be agressive towards your boat. We can finally get pvp like combat with mobs if they have things like dark swords(magical weapon plus it looks like a scimitar), darts, pirate weapons or magic staffs (cats were always considere a magical being). In this way we can use the weapon from the barnacles to sink their boat, burn it with fire (they could have enough ai to use antifire items)

If we find the island with their boss we can trade with him or kill him to stop the spawn of pirates for some days. Trading with it could add the possibility of making hard to catch fish and fish without much use a lot more valuable, also the size could be taken into account in the loot table

I want a boss fight based in pvp. I wanted it for wagstaff (imagine fighting wagstaff with his laser googles, lazy explorer to evade you, fire staffs, and weapons like dark sword or glass cutters) but also i want pirates so this could mix both ideas. Also i think racoon, i think is how this mobs were called, fits a lot the theme
