Mutant plants are a joke. After four months, few people take the initiative to use them.

Should have gone to school in Canada. Look up the iron ring ceremony.

I see Tolkien and Golum now with different eyes

"The ring symbolizes the pride which engineers have in their profession, while simultaneously reminding them of their humility. The ring serves as a reminder to the engineer and others of the engineer's obligation to live by a high standard of professional conduct."

"It is intended to be worn on the little finger of the working (dominant) hand. There, the facets act as a sharp reminder of one's obligation while the engineer works, because it could drag on the writing surface while the engineer is drawing or writing."

As satirical humanist I can go to bed now with a good warm feeling, thank you for sharing. :p

As an American trained engineer I am terrified. One of the first rules on the job that was drilled into me (with appropriate horror stories) was NO RINGS!

I think I'd be cool if the mutant seeds were more like critter variants where there are only one or two specializations and they have important differences, not just generic modifiers. A glossy drecko isn't a "100% more yield for 50% greater cost" normal drecko. It is an entirely different thing.
