Are artifacts renewable?

Recommended Posts

I haven't played the base game in a while but I remember getting zillions of artifacts from space missions.

I haven't mined an asteroid field yet in Space Out and I'm curious as to how they work. The game shows that artifacts are available in asteroid fields. If I go get one, is that it, or do they refresh eventually?

If I understood correctly. Now we can get one artifact of each type. To do this, we will need to visit at least once each asteroid field and each space POI. Because a unique artifact was generated on each of them.
During repeated visits, previously ungenerated artifacts will be generated, one piece each, and in the end - an infinite number of "Office Mugs"

As for now it seems like they aren`t renewable or at least take a lot of time to do so. Analyzing artifacts is now a victory condition and requires 20 of them to be analyzed (10 from space and 10 "terrestial" so i assume from planetoids). It wouldn`t make sense if you could get all the space ones from a single space PoI.

Getting the artifact from the space PoI doesn`t take a drillcone. You just need a rocket with an artifact transport module (a regular CO2 rocket is enough to get 2 from the nearby space objects). There is a lot of space PoIs so you are likely getting more than the required amount of artifacts from there.

Don't know if this was a feature, bug, or just update side effect, but all of the space POIs I had taken artifacts from previous to the update now have artifacts available again. Additionally, I set up my Radbolt engine with 3 artifact storage modules expecting to hit several POI while exploring, but found that when I hit the first POI it filled all three storage modules (with different artifacts). No idea if any or all of this is intended behavior though. Though it seems like artifacts are meant to be the way in which vaccilator usage is also made renewable, so it would not surprise me to find out that they are intended to be renewable.
