Problem with game save

Hi there-

My son has just started to play Oxygen Not Included and loves it. He was plugging away at what I imagine is the first scenario or challenge, and saved the game. When he went back to load the game, all of the live humans and animals were frozen. He could still select things for disassembling, and could mark things for a new dig, but still the humans and animals were frozen.

We tried to load from multiple different autosaves, but the same problem occurred. We closed the game, closed Steam, and rebooted, but still the same result. The game was bought on Steam, should be the latest version, and playing on a Windows 10 PC. The game was working fine up until we saved and reloaded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is just a corrupt file, he will just have to start again. But if it is something he is doing wrong, we will want to fix it so he can progress in the game.

Hi there,

When loading the game, it starts out paused every time.
Try check if that's the case, and unpause the game (space bar by default).
There's a play button top left of the HUD that indicates the state.

If that's not the issue, if you don't mind attaching the save file here, others can confirm if it's behaving oddly.
