Ceos Posted July 9, 2021 Share Posted July 9, 2021 My second asteroid in my current playthrough was devoid of poke shells and a much earlier SO run had a swamp start free of pacu... I am guessing my particular luck with 0 spawn is a bit of a bug but was thinking about extinction events in general. It makes no logical sense to use a drillcone to find animals but it would be nice to have a way to get eggs or animals in case they are not spawned or "lost" (yeah... in vanilla I never accidentally set up an auto hatch farm and set the auto loader wrong drowing *all* my hatches... how could you accuse me of such evil?). Am I missing something and cursing the ONI gods in error? I know sandbox exists but somehow always feels like cheating even when it is just "fixing." In vanilla I think every critter had a patch it could be found in. Now off to figure out dasha saltvine cultivation for my infinite sand needs. Thanks. I think the biomes are too small and sometimes, randomly, that small space that you get just happens to not have any critters in it. I don't like it. I don't know what exactly triggers it, but if you have one Pokeshell you should get more from the printer eventually. May need a Dupe in contact with it or something. Does anybody know what is needed to get it from the printer? So in theory discovering one on another asteroid should be enough to get one from printer. Yep 100% agreed... sadly never saw one (none spawned) so the printer will not produce... although that does solve the extincion event issue. Should have thought of that since in my example I now remembered I did get a new set of hatch eggs from the printer! Guess this could be solved by unlocking the printer on biome discovery vs. critter discovery.
