Nebbie Posted June 20, 2021 Share Posted June 20, 2021 The Oil Refinery is a bit of a pain because of constant dupe interaction, and is massively inferior to even a basic petroleum boiler. The Desalinator's model of dupe interaction is a lot more sane. Graphite buildup is a problem in oil refining machinery in the real world, so what if dupes just had to empty the graphite out? It would be a relatively small amount, so not really what would discourage going to the water asteroid, but something for renewable fullerene long-term. Additionally, bitumen is an obvious candidate given its description in the game for the same role of being a byproduct solid dropped out. It would probably function as just another raw mineral, so good for feeding hatches. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
