How do you research seeds with gardeneer hat ?

Hello

I'm into the new farming mechanics and I have no problem in research every plant stage with the gardeneer hat except... the seed stage !

-> When I equip the gardeneer hat and try to research the newly planted seed, my character says that he needs to wait to see what the seed will give.
-> And when I try to inspect a specific seed in my inventory with the gardeneer hat on, nothing happens...

And thus my plant registry looks like this :

Can somebody help me ? My fridge full of seeds with cryptic names is a nightmare to manage ^^

You have to put seed into dirt and then research it.

you can only research specific planted seeds, not the generic seeds birds drop, those are just random seeds.

So right after you plant potato seeds research them, or however they are called until you research, fluffy i think.

You're right, that's exactly what I tried to do and of course I didn't work (become I can't know by advance what the random seed will become).
I tried again with specific seeds I just planted nd everything went good. Thank you very much for your help
