Hey guys, I just bought this game on Steam. Sorry if I've overlooked something obvious, but how am I supposed to get the lightbulbs?

Can't get any further until I can get some, and my counter's been permanently stuck on 0.

First of all welcome to the club.

The lightbulbs stand for research points. With research points you are able to research and then create new things. In order to get research points you need to built a research machine and feed it items in order to build up points. Keep in mind that different items give different amounts of points, gold is usually a good way to start building up some basic points.

You can put anything into the science machine. Now I wait for the day I can add, "...and anyone".

if you need lots of points fast, I sugest searching out the next graveyard, and bring your shovel.

diging up grass nodes is a good way too, but I suggest to not take any near your camp, since you still need to be able to collect some grass for other stuff.
