Glitched Metheus Puzzle?

I have just started going through the Cyclum and Metheus puzzles with my wife, and we have run into an issue after clearing the Cyclum puzzles and starting the Metheus puzzle.
I have tried searching on various websites including this forum but I haven't found anyone with a similar issue as us.

In the very first tablet (puzzle) of the Metheus puzzles, we have read that we are supposed to input each other's symbols (one players gold symbols for another players black symbols), however when we open the tablet, each of our symbols are already identical to one anothers, which makes us essentially just entering our own symbols into the tablet which doesn't work.

We have our own unique Steam accounts and our own unique Klei accounts as well, so we're really wondering what is causing this issue and whether any one else has come across this problem.

Try using a different web browser.   

I had signed in previously with my kid's accountbut when i signed in later with my account metheus wasn't working because it was still somehow linked to the wrong account.   I tried signing out and back in didn't seem to change anything.

I overcame this issue by signing in fresh using a different browser that I had never logged into steam before with.

You might also try clearing your cookies and see if that helps it to start over with new symbols.
