Need Help With a Shadow Creatures Mod

I was looking for a mod that would make the shadow creatures friendly while the player is insane and I found this, but it looks to be just a lua file? I've only ever gotten mods from the steam workshop up until now and I have no idea how to install this. 

Do I need more than just that lua file? What am I missing here?

In the mods folder, make a new folder and add the code to a modmain. You'll have to copy a modinfo and change the data inside accordingly (fairly self-explanatory when you see it) and delete the configurations if you have to

I've tried that, but it didn't work. The mod gets labeled "crashed" and doesn't work.

So either the code is broken, or files are missing...
