Unity DOTS and performance

I wonder if Klei will(can?) switch to the rather new Unity DOTS system which sounds pretty suitable for this kind of simulation game. Would be cool if a developer can enlighten me if they are working on major optimizations and new approaches to the simulation to increase performance. The late game really crushes my cpu.

You cant just change the engine. You may update to a newer version, but changing would mean redoing nearly everything.

And DOTS would not be that beneficial as you would think. There is not that much that could be parallelized, because much of the stuff has to wait for other things to be finished. You dont just put a multicore-engine in it, and it runs better on its own.
