voqn
This doesn't mean it's useful in survival mode, but it's useful for verification in sandbox mode, and more importantly, it's fun. Spoiler Example This video shows a comparison of the performance of a conventional mechanical airlock and an improved version with a Tempshift plate. Spoiler Have a good time! stoeberhai
I use the signal counter (0.5/0.5) since its recent introduction but what always bothered me is that you cannot turn it off per automation and therefore you can get a delay when you start the counting. I was a bit curious if your Filter-SR is more reliable and so i tested and compared both. The signal counter starts differently, as expected; sometimes a tad earlier and sometimes later than the filter. But i noticed that the filter has to be set to a different value. Comparing with a stopwatch it seems to be 0.7. Maybe that is just the case for my computer.Edit: The filter also seems to be unaffected by saving/hiccups in contrast to the signal counter (Assuming that hiccups always put things back a bit, the tiny initial advantage of the signal counter was equalized after autosave). All in all: it works very good. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/119551-signal-counter-stopwatch/#findComment-1348591 Share on other sites
voqn
@stoeberhai Yeah. After that I noticed the lag by gate processing.thanks. '0.7 seconds' means interval excluding the delay in gate processing. Perhaps that setting is the most consistent in any environment. I'm guessing the following processing times are the reason Detect SR output from the set port (1 tick, 0.1 sec) Detect FILTER gate output (1 tick, 0.1 sec) Detect SR output from the reset port (1 tick, 0.1 sec) I will be replacing it with a revised image later Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/119551-signal-counter-stopwatch/#findComment-1348726 Share on other sites
