Different boat shapes/sizes

With all the new things you can do on boats, there are now a dedicated few who even make full bases out on the water... but with the circular shape of the only boat we have. Its a bit difficult to walk around on them
So this is why I am proposing either square boats... or just different sized boats.
The square boats could even be smaller than the current boats to incentivize using the larger boat. But at least have the added ability of snuggly fitting up against other boats. Allowing for either more compact boat bases or just for easier maneuvering.

And for a less serious suggestion:
There could be different kinds of boats that arent just made of wood, maybe they could be built using boss drops or just be very expensive, but the few ideas i had were:

-Metal Boat:
           Doesnt spring holes in it from hitting things, but also cant be repaired using wood. Maybe repaired using gold or "Metal"... Could also be made with shells instead of "metals" much like the armoured boat in SW
-Fertile Boat:
           Like the wood boat, but has a dirt surface that can be used to plant things such as grass, twigs, berry bushes, and the sort.
this idea could also be made into a craftable seafaring tab structure that you can place onto the boat. It would take up some space that can only be planted on or walked on. (Maybe a garden pot or something)
