Obviously I could wait until it’s dormant, but until it’s analyzed I don’t know when that will be. Would flooding with water keep it from erupting, and if so how deep would I need to flood it? Zarquan Posted October 2, 2019 Share Posted October 2, 2019 One thing that is common in volcanoes is that they don't erupt very often, even when they are active. If the magma is draining away then, right after they erupt, you can clean up the magma with a couple obsidian temp shift plates (cooling off the magma right under the volcano) and you will almost certainly be able to complete the analysis before it erupts again.
