A new character. Dunno.

Recommended Posts

What about som new character who can swim in the new ocean, he will overheat faster, but, when wet, he gain sanity, aaaaand, he can fish in pounds without a dishing road, and maybe he could just do an animation by when he encounter a fish in the ocean and catch it. Dunno, i just looked at Pinterest and see an art of an ugly character idea. It was very ugly.

It seems to me that you are throwing in some finr ideas for a Wallany rework. Not swimming but she could surf with her surfboard (only her), she'd be fine with wetness but be suceptible to freezing and overheating, she could bring some pirate/fishing stuff like fishnets and harpoons to catch creatures of the sea.

I had idea like that:

  • Walani has the same statistics as in the Shipwrecked.
  • Walani's hunger is still falling 10% faster.
  • Walani is still chilled, which means that every positive and negative aura is weaker by 10% for her.
  • Walani wets 20% slower and dries 20% faster
  •  Walani has his surfboard, which he gets to start and can also make it. The surfboard is located in the Seafaring Tab is portable, and after it is destroyed with a hammer, nothing falls out. The surfboard can be repaired with wood, boards, Driftwood Pieces, sticks, etc. It has 75 durability points and loses 1 point for 7.6 seconds. Walani can put a surfboard on the water and flow identically as in DSS. However, it has a limitation. Walani can flow a maximum of 4 diameters of the boat (made at Think Tank). When player want to go further, the character refuses. Walani can also swim at a distance of 2 boat diameters from the boat located any distance from the shore. When she is sailing she cannot have any tool in her hand and she cannot fight. However, she can always pick up and collect objects from the water. Only Walani can use the surfboard.
  • Walani can fish in the ocean with a fishing rod but to do this she must be on the boat

oh yea, those are splendid ideas, the limitation is good to prevent her from mapping out the sea instantly bujt still being useful for scouting and crossing small rivers.

In her Shipwrecked state she is too generic to be added to DST but solid alterations can make her the perfect sea loving, fishing heavy character, which would also help expand the rather dull sea and fishing mechanisms we have now.

In my view she should bring some exclusive stuff with her on seafaring and survival tabs (and maybe even food tab), like a surfboard and an upgraded surfboard (that can carry another character in the back perhaps), fishing rod and fishing net for fish hunting, maybe a harpoon on seafaring, and maybe even a barrel(and even a chest) for conserving some sort of food/gunpowder/loot.

Wetness should be her strong suit as long as it's not excessive, perhaps giving her some benefits and making melon hat&the like more useful while she should suffer from dry things and land hazzards, like faster cold and overheat, sanity loss for staying on land for too long, dried food giving less benefits...

Big part of this mechanics are connencted to my idea for Woodlegs:
