Slvrsrfr
Now that the starting biome has taken on a new shape, it presents some new issues, imho. Plants that spawn on or close to this area(s) are essentially doomed, in my mind. The seed I just rolled had 1/3 of the spawned flora in near immediate jeopardy. I don't consider that a 'safe' start. There is no meaningful difference, except for a short blurb, in Survival, and No Sweat. I have no visual indication that there is any difference. It would be nice to see differences plainly described and quantified. While I am crushed and disheartened that my seed has been irrevocably changed, I do love the new content(biomes, critters, resources, etc.). I am eager to find the new replacement for LC. It heartens me that the old saves are playable it seems. Just without the new stuff. Which is still incredibly nice. The shinebugs look especially vivid now, I love it. This version will take some getting used too, I am eager to jump in.
Sasza22
What asteroid are you playing on? Some of them have huge heat issues making them hard starts while others have a nice temperature for over a 100 cycles. No Sweat doesn`t affect the temperature calculation or the world genertion. What it affects is the amount of food dupes need, how fast they get stressed and how easily they get sick. It`s possible you got an unlucky seed but maps labeled as easy starts usually are pretty easy. But occasionally you can get a weird trait like a volcano spawning right oustside the starting biome or stuff like that.
Slvrsrfr
Pretty sure it's terra, the starter type. Thanks for asking. I am going to post up some screenshots to help illustrate my issues. I would love to see an explanation as simple as that, in a box below the selection screen/menu for game type! That is a straightforward, informative, detailed summary of the distinctions between the world types. Thanks for the explanation I was looking for. :shinebug:
