How do tempshift plates work

Recommended Posts

A tempshift plate is just a heatsink. It "touches" the grid it is built in, and the 8 grids adjacent to it. If the plate is hot, it warms those grids up, and if it's cold, it cools them down. If one adjacent grid is hot and another one is cold, the heat can travel through the plate and make them the same temperature. They work on liquids, gasses, tiles (esp. metal tiles), and doors; but they don't work (directly) on other buildings (including adjacent tempshift plates), pipes, or solids.

It may not be obvious at first, but they are surprisingly useful and powerful.
