Less frustrating but more Challenging and Creative Game Play!?

There are a few things that make the more frustrating than challenging.

Gathering:

Gathering grass and twigs is not a challenge! everyone can use WASD and Space or just put some weight on those or simply use a mod for auto collection. Sounds very easy, but also very boring and frustrating. Most of the time player is busy collecting raw material other than "Thinking" or "Creating." Sure, it gets automated after a while (depending on player.) but it still consumes a lot of players time. 
One solution I can suggest is random amounts of grass at every pick. Picking grass and twigs will give between 1-3 cut grass and twigs. 

Loosing tool durability:

Loosing the durability of items so soon, brings nothing but frustration. 
Some tools have golden version, but the normal tools still consume most of the starting game play time. Only a bit of more durability could solve this issue. Or maybe, for example making the Axe blunt over time, that reduces the drop rate of logs (Requires rise of log drop to 1-5) could be less frustrating than actually breaking it. 

Hunger:

Getting hungry all the time, and eating all the time. 
Sometimes player makes a lot of food to avoid starvation. There could be a "Slice" option for the foods like meatball to make foods more efficient and also shareable. Therefore a step forward in making the game a bit less frustrating. 

Day and Night Circle:

It's the main thing that determines the stress level of the game. That how fast players need to prepare for situations like boss fights, new seasons for winter and summer. Therefore adjusting it could significantly reduce frustration. Even if it was making it 4-6 minutes longer for day, night and dusk.
