Spool gain from normal gift drops is almost -nonexistent- (on average, you'll get well less than 100 a week) and I'm not sure it's even possible to get event items from drops, so if you don't have saved up spools you're kind of sunk. I'm hoping they'll add chests in later. Year of the Warg had chests, and if the item selection seems too small, they could just lump Verdant/Warg stuff in too.
