Herald Island base update

I decided to try basing near the Aporkalypse Clock, especially since it's still buggy and no way did I want to run all the way from a base on the first island, through a jungle to a poisoned jungle, then through a ruin, then through a jungle to another jungle, then a ruin again--only to come back and have my pigs still talking doom and gloom. I picked a spot equidistant from each ruin entrance, near the water so I can catch frogs for small jerky to make bacon & eggs. The main thing Herald Island doesn't have is robots to hammer for more iron. It also doesn't have spider monkeys, but you can just buy silk in the oddities store.

I started with a small temporary base near the grocer shop on the first island, then moved over. I've averted the Aporkalypse. once so far. Still early stages...

Home sweet home, lakefront property. I have done nothing to the inside of the shanty yet. Nettles aren't an option, but the fan keeps the hayfever away.

Kitchen with small grass/twig farm and workshop. There's no shortage of snaptooths on Herald Island, so I have more stalking sticks than I know what to do with. I don't even use Bug B Gone, but I needed to do something with all those stalks.

Downtown commercial district. I hope to have multiples of a couple of the shops eventually but I don't really need them.

Where the pigs live. This is the grindiest part. What type of pig a townhouse spawns is random, and so I have to keep knocking them down and rebuilding to get the right mix of pigs (mostly ushers, the ones who buy berries). It takes a LOT of boards, and even though I knocked down most of the houses in the first pig city for resources, I still ended up chopping a lot of wood and am still not close to the configuration I'd like. The base is often overrun with pigs whose homes I demolished, and they're always running around, freaked out that it's getting dark or because a frog went for one of them. They are NOT into the lakefront property idea!

The two Herald Island ruin entrances have always been in two different jungles on my maps. It's a quick jaunt to either one--really quick, with all those snaptooths around.
