It's no longer as simple as setting a smart battery to turn them on when the solar panels aren't pulling the weight. EDIT: I got something that works fine. It can be done easily enough by (for example) using a battery charged directly by the solar panels to control petroleum/etc generators. But I'm still interested in anyone else's solutions.
