ZoharContact
Sure, there are tons of fun things that can happen when air pressure changes ripple through the colony, but I think one change very well within the dev team's reach would be an "ear pop" emote and sound when a sudden pressure change is detected by the duplicants. HoovyEd
Ok, even though I agree with the logic I fear that'd become a bit too gruesome or non family friendly and maybe a bit too hard. I mean, if their ears popped they'd have a negative boost for the rest of the game technically since they are deaf (maybe in how well htey execute orders or just get more stressed). In that same sense, they'd also poop theirselves and even suffer organ failures just because you dug one too many blocks.

Usually the pressure change popping is non destructive sinus pressure equalization. It is uncomfortable but ultimately not harmful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear_clearing

If it is, that'd mean it COULD be as gruesome as a Tarantino movie.
ZoharContact
Most of the time, you're digging into a vacuum pocket that's little more than the base's original volume at game start. The worst the duplicants are likely to suffer from the decompression itself are treatable Bends symptoms. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decompression_sickness) Here's a crash course in prolonged vacuum exposure: http://io9.gizmodo.com/19-times-someone-gets-thrown-into-space-from-worst-to-1753938085 The most gruesome thing that's likely to happen is a sudden rush of air throwing the duplicant into the vacuum pocket, maybe even into the far wall. I still don't know if ONI has an explanation for why there's gravity on an asteroid, but in microgravity, you'd probably be in for a world of hurt. They'd probably be fine as long as they were tethered to a surface, although any surface between the duplicant and the vacuum pocket would be really unstable. At least, that's what my amateur physics googling tells me.
