(mod request) orphaned smallbird fix

Mayday! The bugtracker section is sinking in reports of a specific bug:

Okay, that was a bit exaggerated, but still. The RoG naturally occuring smallbirds corrupt saves if their mama dies, apparently.

Klei will push a hotfix in a few weeks, but few can wait that long. I myself do not own RoG, so I can't investigate or fix this, but I'd like someone else to do so.

From what I understand, a fix would un-corrupt the affected save files, so this medicine would sell much and for a lot mod would be much-wanted.

I guess I can try it. Doesn't seem difficult, just needs to specify that if leader is dead, then goes leader = nil or something.
