Starving behavior

Recommended Posts

when someone is starving they should look out for food and grab it as fast as they can but instead the duplicants act like they don't even need food and starve to death most of the time also when someone is in a medical bed someone should either get them food or they should get up to grab some

This is happening for another reason.... A dupe is starving, but doesn't get priority on food made, so if another dupe "Requests" food first they will go grab that newly made Mush bar...the only way to get around this is to make it so no other dupes are allowed to eat the selected food source. except the starving guy.

The way to keep dupes on medical cots fed is to lower the amount held in the nearby fridge/ration box, and increase its priority, e.g. to 8 (assuming you don't use priority 9 for everything which is a bad practice). That way other duplicants will keep it ready for use but there won't be unnecessary amount of food. You need a ration box near your medical cots if you want them to work properly anyway.

Duplicants on medical cots shouldn't exit the "aura" of the cot until they are healthy (or until the player unassigns them). The way it is implemented now where they will actually go for food or toilet somewhere else and will happily go lunch at their table is just unfinished/buggy implementation.

Apart of that, I'd welcome if starving dupes dropped their consumables preferences and went for any available food. I don't think anything more than that is needed.
