[Don't Starve Together] Issue with world creation.

I tried to create a world recently, but the client kept closing itself after an attempt to create the world was made (on the loading message where the 'world revolves at the bottom'). I had no issue joining other worlds, but creating any new ones recently just instantly closes the game. No crash message at all.

 

I even took off the mods for this case, but it still crashes me. Any idea why, or is there a way to fix this? I tried to reinstall the whole game, but it still had this issue. :/

@Vaculity, Without your log file (Documents/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether/log.txt) it's hard to say, but the last time this was reported, I think the person didn't have enough dedicated graphics memory (only 32MB, when 256 is required). What sort of specs are you running on?

Oh. I checked the log, apparently it had the same error as the one you described.

 

I haven't actually said anything about the Computer Spec before, so..

For some reason, the HD Graphics had 64 Dedicated video Memory, whereas the Geforce had 1k+ Dedicated video Memory. This (World Creation) had never happened before whenever I created a world.. so why now?

@Vaculity, In your graphics control panel somewhere you should be able to either make sure that your GeForce is what's being used (all the time), or at least set it to be used for Don't Starve Together. If you get that working, it should solve your issue.

Well, I think I did set it from the Geforce control panel. But it did not fix the issue that its still using Intel HD Drive instead.  (I forgot to mention I was using Windows 7 as well. My apologies.)

Hey @Vaculity, 

 

Can you try what happens if you launch the game with the option -alternate_gc?

 

(Right-click Don't Starve Together in your library), and under Properties/Set Launch Options enter '-alternate_gc' without the quotes.

 

We are aware of the issues with worldgen, and I am working it - the alternate_gc is experimental at the moment but I would like to know if it solves anything in your situation.

Surprisingly the experimental thing worked. I played for a few days after putting that code on the game before I launched in the Steam Library. No crashes so far after day 11.
