PS4 Crash When Attempting to Relocate Pearl After Rehoming (Post-Scion)

ViCiOuS-V.
  • Fixed

Platform:
PlayStation 4
(Unsure if PS5 is affected, but likely)

Game Version:
Winter's Feast Update 2025 / PEARLMAS

BUG:
After completing the Scion content and rehoming Pearl to my base area, the game consistently crashes when I attempt to relocate Pearl to another location. The crash happens immediately after attempting the relocation.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Play Don’t Starve Together on PS4

  2. Progress past post-Scion content

  3. Rehome Pearl to a base area

  4. Attempt to relocate Pearl to a different location

  5. Game crashes immediately

Expected Result:
Pearl should successfully relocate without crashing the game.

Actual Result:
The game crashes immediately upon attempting to relocate Pearl.

Reproducibility:
100% (occurs every time I attempt this)

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Thanks for the report, we've been trying to reproduce this but haven't had any luck.
Could I get you to crash the game again - watch that it's not saving at the time - and report the bug to Sony.
Add a comment like "Pearl Rehomer Crash" and include the video, I should be able to fund your crash and hopefully figure out what's happening

Things I tried,

In case this was related to a bug with the Hermit Rehomer crafted before the update, I went ahead and crafted a brand-new Hermit Rehomer on the current version. Unfortunately, both the pre-update Rehomer and the newly crafted one on the current update cause the game to crash immediately.

I also tested using it in a different biome to rule out the desert/oasis biome as the cause, but the crash still occurred when relocating her to the forest biome. This makes me wonder if the issue may be related to using a long-established world (dating back to 2016) rather than newer in worlds.

I have attached a video and the crash photo for reference that demonstrates the crash and may help identify the cause.

I sent multiple reports to Sony. Hopefully that works. Check my other response on this thread as well. Thanks for replying promptly on this matter.

The Portage Conch is also crashing the game in certain areas of my base. I think it may have to do with the teleporting animation. I can't pinpoint the exact cause though.

Thanks for the reports, I was able to find your crash but it didn't give me much to go on. Would you be able to zip up your PS4 savedata and send it to me. I could use it to try to reproduce the problem and hopefully find a solution
