This very very scary situation has happened to me. I was able to revert the world back prior to this thankfully and I disabled Deerclops, Lunar Rifts and Winter all together.
Steps to Reproduce
Use the same settings as shown in the video then wait until Winter. Must have Lunar Rifts active. Deerclops enabled, and then disabled. Very short Winter season.
These settings may have a lot to do with it.

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
