Beefalo runs away when trying to be fed

When ever I try to feed my beef it runs away at full speed. If I don't cancel out of it we both run for a few seconds.

Try to feed beef on ps4

I've tried this a few times and haven't had any problems feeding my beef so there must be something else to it.

What are you trying to feed it? Is it bound with a bell? Is there anything else that might make it "different"?
