Shared occupancy within a tile

sakura_sk
  • Branch: Preview Branch Version: Windows Fixed

It seems that spawned objects cannot exist in the same tile if there is another building in the background of it. This was first noticed when egg shell and meat started dropping of a closed one tile box of hatch eggs (and drowning hatchlings...). When the egg hatched, the egg shell spawned to the side instead of staying in the spot. An easy way to check is trying to spawn anything (eggs, food, pills) in a one tile gap occupied by any other building, pipe, sensor, automation or vent. (Or maybe objects are spawning one tile above their original destination..? I'm not completely sure what is actually happening)

Demonstration:

Results of several different buildings occupying the one tile gap when an egg hatches (*the drop of water is not necessary):

Steps to Reproduce

In a one tile gap having a building in the background, try to spawn an object at the same tile (or put an egg in there and wait until it hatches)

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Hmm. That might explain why my Pacus seem to die off within a few 10 cycles recently. Never had that before, only a temperature problem with Gulp-Fish, but that one kills them slowly.

This displacement doesn't happen anymore after update 493827

Edit: Except for pneumatic doors
