When you get a mutated grubfruit seed, the plant that gets identified is the Spindly Grubfruit. When a divergent tends to the plant, it's considered a new plant altogether, so it isn't recognized. The effects of the mutation still seem to persist, though:
Steps to Reproduce
1. Obtain a mutated grubfruit seed
2. Identify it
3. Plant it
4. Wait for it to be tended by a Sweetle or Grubgrub.
A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
