Please help. Thanks in advance.

Steps to Reproduce

A and G Cycle 1025.sav

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Changed Status to Fixed

The cause of this bug is quite interesting and relates to allowing temperature transfer on small masses. Surprisingly it's the gas escaping into the void on the water asteroid below the pitcher pump but it could happen anywhere.

In the next build the temperature change is reverted and I ran your save for a couple cycles with no issue.

Thanks for report and the save!

well, it will fix the crash problem (which is serious) but will leave the temperature transfer on small masses problem unsolved (a relatively small problem). Just to remind you. The problem occurs when a sweeper picks hot metal from volcano eruption. It starts picking up 10kg but suddenly the portion melts and sweeper picks up only tiny amount (milligram) which then loaded to the conveyor and cycle infinitely as it cannot be cooled down. There is a mechanical solution for that just to have a chute and another sweeper.

I had frequent crashes (like every few game cycles) recently after the last update. So I guess the notes to the coding were right - "do not touch the small masses temperature exchange".

@KonfigSys There is still a plan to look into improving small mass temperature transfer either by allowing it in the sim (after fixing the underlying bugs) or through some other means. It might not happen right away but it's on my list.

Did your game suddenly close or display the crash report screen?

Hi Eric,

This small mass temp problem is not really annoying. It is good to know it is on the list and may be patched at some point.

I am more concerned about crashes. I checked today and I can say that there are definitely less crashes than before the last patch release but there are still some. Like I had two crashes playing for 3-4 hours. All these crashes are not the game breaker (like the first rocket one was) - they occur randomly and I could not understand why they happened. All rockets were grounded so it is not related to the rocketry this time. And when I flew rockets I did not have crashes anymore.

It may be too many objects to calculate - it is late game 1000+ cycles, a lot of animals, fishes, plants, buildings. I have 32gB RAM but many windows opened. Let me check for more time to understand the reasons of these crashes.

I was testing on the small world (Space out style) as I had to stop playing classic style when I realized I cannot make super coolant (no Aluminium in my seed). When I have more time I will check the classic map also. Before the patch both maps had frequent crashes and I sense they were mainly rocket related (now this part is fixed).

I have checked the classic map style DLC 1000+ cycles - it was running without any problems for extended period of time.

So I had a problem with loading save files on small DLC map. I could not load some recent save files after the patch from May 19th but I went four cycles back and managed to download the saves. Anyway I do not think that we need to look at that as the new update will completely change the game and we may disregard the old saves. So it is better to start a new game with the new POIs on the star map and then see if any crashes happen through the play.
