Duplicants don't store Power Banks in storage properly

Electroely
  • Branch: Preview Branch Version: Windows Pending

When attempting to store a specific amount of Power Banks in a Storage Bin (very important for rockets piloted by bionics), duplicant behavior is not as expected.

- They will attempt to store a number of batteries equal to how many kg the storage bin is set to - so for a storage bin set to 5kg, they will attempt to store 5 Power Banks despite each one being 20kg itself. Setting the storage bin to 20kg will cause them to attempt to store 20 batteries.

- Further storage errands are only issued when the actual mass of the batteries inside the storage bin falls below what is set. So for a storage bin set to 5kg, dupes will not refill it with 5 batteries until all of the batteries inside have been taken out, because each battery is 20kg.

Expected behavior is either setting a storage bin to 100kg limits the amount stored to 5 batteries, or a storage bin set to 5kg will be refilled with batteries if it falls below 5 batteries (100kg). Current behavior is neither of these.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Make a storage bin
2. Set it to store Eco Power Banks with a limit of 20kg
3. Notice that the weight of the batteries stored inside exceeds 20kg
4. Make another storage bin and set to store Eco Power Banks with a limit of 5kg
5. Notice that Duplicants will store 5 Eco Power Banks if they are available
6. Use one of the Eco Power Banks stored in the storage bin
7. Notice that the storage bin is not refilled with another Eco Power Bank when it becomes available

User Feedback

Adding to this, This is affected by a save and load.

Once the storage bin has bin loaded to or above the set weight, saving and loading will cause the storage bin to limit power banks based on weight instead of discrete units.

Is there a fix coming for this bug?

To refill those storages with these items, I have to set the filter to "None," wait a couple of cycles before my dupes desire to empty them, and then revert the setting to the desired item.

I'm getting fed up with suddenly realising I have zero power banks left, because a dupe has put 1000 of them in a rocket storage.  Please let's have some kind of fix for this!
