Random Crash when reaching cycle 995

How old where the "other saves"? This sounds like an old known bug, caused by "something" planed, and when executed, it crashes.

If this task is already in the line in your older saves, it will crash for sure.

Solution to try: Load an slightly older save, cancel all jobs outside of your base, move all dupes to the inside, and lock the doors. Wait for the time it normally crashes, and if nothing happens, proceed as normal.

Just tried that twice from cycle 991, once with them free roaming the large interior and the second locked in all the bedrooms and mess hall only. Both times it crashed.

Could it be a task that gets queued up on that cycle automatically?

Well that might actually help a lot, thanks for pointing it out here it is.

Any idea what ([22:48:14.873] [2] [WARNING] Effective mass cannot be greater than capacity!) means and why its repeated close to a thousand times?

Thanks for the log, and the report.

Seems that something about this colony is making the sim unhappy, we'll see if we can figure out what's going.

Hi, we had a look and found the cells causing the problem.

If you notice the mass of the liquid in the top right cell here, it's uhhh quite interesting :)
The cell to the left of it has a similar issue, and the ones below are really high but still ok.

We're still looking into the exact behavior but in the mean time, since I noticed your save had debug enabled at some point, you can use the sandbox tool to paint a different amount of water in those two cells and correct the values. If you do, you should be able to keep playing as before.

Hope that helps.

Seems like I made the same bug report a few days later, just noticed this reports the same situation :)

(except I never enabled debug but thankfully managed to reroll far enough back through autosave)

Is this something you will eventually be working on, or is it unintended gameplay and we need to focus on designing different systems? There seems to be a very divided opinion of this...
