I allowed my dupe who was a builder profession wise to do research. While doing research the builder profession experience increased and moved from apprentice architect to architect. I assume since this isn't part of the builder profession, research activities shouldn't level architect. This might be true of other professions.

Assign dupe to architect profession build research station and supply it. allow dupe with architect profession to conduct research. measure progress of profession.
