When storing seeds in storage bins, pips will go up to them, interact with them and the seed will pop out graphically, however you cannot access that seed. The storage bin will display there there is non, the side bar will display that there are many. If you then deconstruct the storage bin. The seeds disappear from the world and you will have no way of getting it back.
