New plant seeds can't be composted

I cannot reproduce this problem. How do you test it? Compost empty and not require flipping? Or is it other seed than the one I tried below?

 

I've been trying to get some oxyfern seeds composted that had been created when I reported that care packages were able to duplicate. My dupes have brought them over to my compost but won't put them in it.

I don't know why its happening to me, but they've been sitting there apparently since cycle 2o something (didn't want to lose my original oxyfern seed that I had got through care package)

I see your compost used for polluted dirt, but your pic didn't give full information about errands or contents.

Here's the delivery mechanic of compost:

Compost will make delivery errand until max 300kg total compostable inside. After reach max capacity, they didn't make delivery errand again until compostable drop below 60kg (20% capacity). This is to prevent continuous small delivery.

 

My suspicion is, when it's drop below 60kg your dupes putting 240kg polluted dirt closer to their position instead of marked seed. That would turning off errand again, making seeds never composted.

solution: build more Compost buildings depending on your polluted dirt production. One compost only can handle 100g/s.

Another possible reason is errand has been made, but no dupes can take that errand. You can check it on errand tab.

• If you want to prevent off-gas of polluted dirt, you can use thin layer of liquid
• Make new world with sandbox environment to test things out without losing anything in your real colony
