Micronutrient Fertilizer being overproduced

WanderingKid
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

My farmers are happily slaving away making more micronutrient fertilizer on my mushroom farm instead of actually using the piles of it that are building up on for my starving dupes.  It looks like one of my farmers is just going absolutely crazy making more nutrient while another one attempts to use the pile.

The list goes off the screen, but I can see 15 of them ready to go until it hits the bottom.

Meanwhile, another farm, 3 squares below it, are starving for micronutrients.  Not sure if this is part of the culprit but all my farms use Exosuits because of the CO2 conditions and having to run out for air.

Steps to Reproduce
Build farm, load up multiple dupes, and wait.

User Feedback

I have seen this without the use of exosuit sand in bristle blossom farms. I suspect you have the farming station set to a higher priority than the actual farm plots. When I changed my farm plot to be the same priority as the farming station, the issue appeared to go away (note that it will take several cycles to go through the excess they currently have produced). I couldn’t really say this is a bug, but it does create an imbalance in gameplay, exactly as you described.

You're dead accurate, I apparently managed to set my farming station to priority 6 when all the farms were priority 5.  Well, that's certainly a fix, but I'm not sure it should have been able to happen in the first place.

Since it's already in a room, perhaps a farmer should use the farming station's values as an override while the rest of the staff would use the local priority?  While it makes sense on paper I'm not sure it wouldn't cause more confusion overall when someone wasn't familiar with the system.
