Hello

This is in the base game

Liquid pump not picking up from bottom tile.

Not sure if it is a bug nut can not find anything searching forum or patch notes about a change.

This brakes a couple of things in my main game. Mainly can not pump magma.

Thanks

Steps to Reproduce

Disable Mods in mod menu and let it restart. Started new game, enable instant build and built what is in picture.

The pump picks up liquid from a plus-shaped area centered on the lower left tile, but it needs to have liquid in any of its four tiles in order to work. Your pump is fully out of the liquid.

There are several solutions out there in the forums for pumping magma. Typically they require the pump be split between magma and some other fluid that is being actively cooled, and then separating the liquids after they enter the pipe.

Here's a volcano tamer that pumps liquid niobium using the same principle. https://www.reddit.com/r/Oxygennotincluded/comments/x6zy76/100_output_niobium_volcano_tamer_no_robominer/

Thank you for your reply.

Was this changed?

I haven't played in a while but all was working the last time I played. Now it's not.

Was this changed with the Frosty update?

I tried to go back to an earlier build via Steam Beta. I cant load my save it says I am missing DLC, but this is the base game I am playing.

I have a lot of hours in this build (1700+). would like to finish what I have created.

Thanks

There has been no change. It has been this way for a long time now; even before Spaced Out! was a glint in the forum's eye.

The pump's hit box needs to be in contact with liquid for it to activate. This applies for both types of pump.

I'd advise looking into this post that elaborates further into the mechanic:

Regards.
