Gulp Fish confined in Ice tile bug

  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Fixed

This issue has been ongoing since July 2021 with a temporary fix given by Stock Bug Fix mod. However, it surprises me to see how this bug is considered 'fixed' by the devs when only a temporary fix-up was created. For reference: https://forums.kleientertainment.com/klei-bug-tracker/oni/gulp-fish-instantly-confining-r31284/

Currently, the mod has some technical issues which breaks the game and I am surprised to see that the bug is still in place. The bug concerns on Gulp fish instantly confining themselves in an Ice tile in the presence of 0 degrees Celsius polluted water (A), by continuously producing <1kg of ice in the form of an ice tile (B).

Initially, the game used to have Gulp fish produce ice debris instead of an ice tile, however after the BOFA patch this function was gone.

Steps to Reproduce

For A:

1. Create a large pool of polluted water with 0 degrees Celsius.

2. Spawn Gulp fish inside the cold pool.

For B:

1. Create a large pool of polluted water with 0 degrees Celsius.

2. Build a Robo-miner above the pool of polluted water with a power source.

3. Spawn Gulp fish inside the cold pool

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

I don't think the "fix" was in any of the updates yet, at least there was no mention of it after that bug report was mentioned as "fixed"

That's correct, it will be fixed in the next update.

To clarify when we mark a bug as fixed it means it's been fixed in the current development build and will likely be included in the next update. If an update is not planned to go out soon it might take a while before the fix goes live.
