Game crashes when material overlay turned on

I had no crash, but the game set itself on pause, and it was unable to unpause it again. The pause button was clickable, but nothing happend. Had to restart the game. And by that, every mod disabled itself. Had to go back to menu, re-enable the mods, restart, and go from there.
