Duplicants unable to move/ Broken.

I have Duplicants who just get stuck/frozen, I can move them manually but after that some of the won't resume their normal jobs, Sometimes after a while they tend to come right.457140_178.jpg.1013447e5a3f38b15230e07492d5b088.jpg

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Still present. I have dupes "vibrating" in place and not moving pretty often now, sometimes several. Goes away on save/reload. In once case I notices the task was "finding safer area". It seems to happen mostly when the game has been running a few hours. 

I also have building jobs that never get completed, seems to be only ladders. Red alert has no effect and no dupe is assigned. Again, goes away on save/reload. No idea whether there is a connection.

@Gurgel Could you please attach your save, Player.log, and point out the which area(s) and Duplicants involved? Do you recall what their errands tab looked like? Was there a safe area you though they should be able to reach?

It was in a mostly all open ladder grid. The area with the dupe was perfectly safe and other dupes were moving right past it. I will try to get you data the next time it happens.

Ok, here is one: Camile was stuck for about 30 seconds, probably because she tried to build a ladder that some other dupe just built. All the ladders to her immediate left were constructed immediately before. After about 30 seconds sort-of vibrating in place, she moved on to a storing task. Come to think of, this may be a problem specifically with ladders? I have had ladders not building and the last dupe freezes may have been while building ladders as well.

I think I had the pump planned, then paused, put in all the ladders, then unpaused and had a mob of dupes rush in and build everything.

This is with some addons that at least to me look unrelated. If you want me to run for a few days without addons, I can do that.

And I caught one more. The dupe was vibrating in place and the current errand was "Test Text". Unfortunately no screenshot. Resolved after a few seconds.

I also observed a lot of smaller incidents of the same type over the weekend, usually sub-second or only 1 or 2 seconds long. This seems to happen relatively often. Did not manage to catch one though, so no idea what the current task was.

Possibly related. On this save Mae is getting stuck trying to move the Shove Voles, that somehow (another bug?) got stuck in a door with access restrictions. She gets interrupted by an errand to take medicine, then goes back and keeps staring at the poor critters. To replicate: load attached save and issue a 'relocate to' command for the critters confined in the door, like in the video.

This game sure does have some very specific bugs, I am sure other precondition mismatch (user facing presentation: "Test Text") bugs are still out there, but this bug where a wrangled critter is in a cell that is unreachable by the dupe with the wrangling skill, but an adjacent cell is reachable by the wrangling skill dupe and the cell the critter is in is reachable by another entity in the fetcher group (eg robots, autosweeper, a dupe without wrangling) is now fixed (Will ship in a future patch).

Well, the game has been optimized, debugged and played for a very long time now. 

Just to expand on the issue, I now have had dupes several times pee themselves when toilets were perfectly operational, free and reachable. Seems to be the same issue: They are stuck in place for too long and apparently the wayfinding is down too, because they are listed as an impending bathroom emergency, but they cannot move. Doing "move to" gives a red target in locations next to them they clearly could go to. Save & reload fixes the issue. 

Is this maybe a wayfinding crash for the specific dupe or something like it?

Thanks for the save Gurgel, the source of your bug has been identified and a fix will ship in the next patch. As they say, there are three hard problems in programming: cache-coherency and counting.

Despite being in CS for 35 years now, did not know that one! I will use it on my students :mrgreen:

Any idea when we will get the patch? I now have this about every 5 minutes when playing interactively and it is really grating.
