I didn't realize this was happening, until I checked one of my pacus that I was trying to get to lay gulp fish eggs. As a baby it reached 40 degrees F and then when it grew up it went up to 78 degrees F (or somewhere around there didn't exacly check immediately).

Have a baby pacu fish in cold water and let it grow up.
