or

Trying to create a new world

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
I tried disabling the cloud saves and loading the game locally only with same resault.
I have uninstalled the game, formated the disk the game was installed on, reinstalled the game on the freshly formated disk, loaded game saved from cloud.

The libSimDLL.so exists in game-library in the Plugin-folder.

I have done a Verify File Integrity in steam saying all files are ok.
I have tried running the game under public_previous_update.

Game still wont load saved games or create new maps. Edited by edaweu

When was the last time you were able to play the game?

I played the game the day before (12th), but i then i opened it immediately after opening steam so i think the oct 9th-upgrade happened after i was done playing the 12th.
(i play through steam without any mods)

In the other thread you're mentioning glibc needs to be >2.38, i run Debian 11 and latest glibc-version is 2.31.

The glibc version a linux system has tends to be very closely related to the kernel among other fine things that make that particular tidbit not as easy to update as one would expect. (AKA not without breaking stuff and landing into dependency hell, IIRC.)

In my case, I still need to make a system backup anyway and do some other chores with my rig (such as dusting the whole thing, et al.) after which I'll eventually upgrade to the current Ubuntu LTS as it's already long overdue.

So TL;DR: Klei's update is a good excuse as any and I'll be updating soon enough, eventually.

We're still investigating potential solutions to make it compatible with an older version of glibc but it's going to take a bit of time.

Changed Status to Fixed

It's been fixed in the public testing branch. Instructions on how to switch to this branch is at the bottom of this postThe SimDLL is now being built in and uses the the Steam Linux Runtime 3.0 (sniper) so going forward it should be more compatible.

Hi.

Just tested the public_testing beta, tested to create new world and to continue on an already saved world and both work.

A huge thank you for everything.
