Dirt and digging byproducts too hot and displays two temperatures in tooltip

I was digging through a warm-hot algae biome (~34-38C) when the shaft suddenly filled with steam. The clay, gold amalgam, slime and algae at the bottom were all >100C and all display their temperatures twice while in temperature overlay. Also, the dirt was doing that thing where it constantly appears out of the sky and falls. The dirt stops falling after reloading the save file, but you can see it in midair before unpausing.

Steps to Reproduce
It seems to happen while digging down near the bottom, but I haven't reached the magma yet.

i have plasic maker in the open in the snow biome. so my plastic also show two same temp's.
