Not exactly a bug, but rather a design omission. When a character appears in the last chapter of adventure world, the spawn is lit by bonfires, and the character is given some starting resources. The same system works as a configurable setting in DST. But if you set up "only night" in a normal DS world, then the character will appear in pitch darkness, and if you don't play Willow, the player will most likely die almost immediately. I guess the character can still be changed if you start with Willow and use her to build a portal to the next dark world, thus switching to someone else and giving the next character the necessary starting resources, but this is a pretty roundabout way to do it. And of course, the world can still generate so that you can get two twigs and two grass and create a torch in time, but you only have a few seconds to do so. Which will most likely require opening the map and orientate using it, but it still might not help in Hamlet, where the grass requires a machete and more time. So even being very lucky and very fast, chances are you'll get at least one Charlie hit before that, and some characters may not survive even that. Adding a campfire and some grass and twigs to spawn would make starting in the dark world a much more accessible challenge for a single game, and I think there will be players who will appreciate it. Right now it's "choose Willow or die" and it's not much fun.
- Choose any character except Willow.
- Start a new world set up for "only night".
- Appear in complete darkness.
- Good luck trying to survive for more than few seconds.
