Wild Tallbirds constantly kill their own children

I keep running into this often where after some time there was tons of meat lying around where Tallbirds spawned. I thought it was just from random animals that came close but nope i saw it. Tallbirds kill their own young for some reason.

 

Is this intentional or some sort of glitch?

Steps to Reproduce

-Visit Tallbird spawning points whenever there are new Smallbirds and Teenbirds around.

Go to bugs

this has been in the game since forever.

So was companions (like Teenbirds for example) losing loyality after player reloged or went back from caves. That was fixed finally not long ago.

 

So question still remains is this intentional or not?
